Quick thoughts on the weekend
By Peter Santo
I will admit that I didn’t think I would be praising Kraft and Belichick when I wrote this. I thought McCourty was gone, but it’s great to have him back. It’s great to see the Patriots finally pay a great player. Only one thing left to do. Your move Darrelle Revis.
He’s backkkkkk. What a great win for Dustin Johnson yesterday. DJ came from five back to win just five weeks since his return from a six-month leave of absence. For a guy with arguably the most talent this side of Tiger Woods, he seems to have figured something out during his hiatus. It appears to be a new and improved Dustin Johnson.
After another top 3 finish at Doral, Bubba Watson appears to be in great form as The Masters nears. Look for Bubba to contend again at Augusta as he goes for his 3rd win in 4 years.
Two straight off weeks for Mcilroy, complete with a club throw that would’ve made Happy Gilmore proud. The Masters is getting ever closer and the world number one is trending in the wrong direction.
How about them Bruins? After straight up stealing two points at home against Philadelphia on Saturday, the Bruins put together another great effort Sunday with a 5-3 win over the Red Wings. If they continue playing like this, look for the boys of summer on skates to be playing well into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
After another Davis Cup loss, American tennis is in a really tough spot. On the bright side, Sam Querrey will be on a reality TV show soon, so look out for that. I ask again, where is Andy Roddick when you need him?
